An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Editor to join our team.

About the Role

The Assistant Editor will provide editorial support to stakeholders, ensuring all public-facing documents meet department and NSW Government requirements. This includes editing, proofreading, formatting, and delivering a large volume of print and digital resources that are compliant with accessibility, branding, and style guidelines.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in editing long and short-form content for various mediums, including print and digital, in line with a style guide. They will also have expertise in editing and formatting content in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Liaising with subject matter experts to refine and finalize content ready for publication is a key aspect of this role. Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people is essential.

Key Requirements
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment or willingness to acquire one
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the value of public education
