Neuropsychologist Position Overview

This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide clinical neuropsychological services across acute and subacute services, including medical and rehabilitation inpatient wards. The Neuropsychologist will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care to patients and their families.

Job Description:

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, recommendations, and reports that focus on relative cognitive strengths and weaknesses, differential diagnosis, functional recommendations, and management strategies. Additionally, they will conduct neuropsychological assessments using interpreters and consider the impact of clients' communication, cultural, and educational diversity on test results.

  • Provide high-quality and efficient neuropsychological services to referred clients and families.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop recommendations for treatment and management.
  • Develop and implement neuropsychology services, working in partnership with inpatient referrers and multidisciplinary teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist.
  • Endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology from the Psychology Board Australia.
  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Neuropsychology recognised by the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
  • Board-approved supervisor or working towards this within the next six months of commencing the role.
  • Extensive clinical experience in and knowledge of the application of neuropsychology practice and principles, particularly in the context of working with older people and people with dementia.
  • Experience in applying neuropsychology practice and principles with younger adults presenting with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or Intellectual Disability (ID) and their families.
  • Current National criminal history check.
