We are seeking a volunteer to visit a kind-hearted woman originally from Egypt, who lives alone and would greatly benefit from friendly company each week.

She enjoys reading, sewing, gardening, and taking walks. Simple pleasures she'd love to share with a compassionate companion.

Sharing stories and smiles could bring warmth and connection to her week in a truly meaningful way.

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience for both the person you visit and yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help improve quality of life and reduce feelings of isolation.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government, promoting links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Avoiding loneliness is crucial for maintaining good health and wellbeing. Your companionship could be the highlight of her week.

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older
  • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a 30 minute visit between 9am and 5pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.

This role requires empathy, active listening skills, and a willingness to engage with our client in a friendly and non-judgmental manner.
