About the Role: We are seeking a suitably qualified medical practitioner to join our team in Upper GI Surgery at St Vincent's Hospital. This is a part-time position, where you will gain exposure to a wide range of upper GI surgery including Oesophagogastric, HPB, Bariatric surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Director Medical Services and the Director of Surgical Training to manage, support and coordinate registrars in surgical specialty departments.
  • Participate in surgical skill courses and opportunities for clinical and basic research.
  • Develop and maintain sound clinical knowledge in Upper GI Surgery through participation in quality assurance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Possess Fellowship of the RACS in General Surgery or equivalent, or completed advanced surgical training intending to sit for the fellowship exam.
  • Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices aligned with scope of practice.
