Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Counsellor to join our multi-disciplinary team in a school setting.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents and families to promote mental health and wellbeing.
  • Administer specialist assessments of cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, social and adaptive functioning for students with learning and/or adjustment difficulties.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, schools and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support students' mental health and wellbeing.
  • Support and manage diagnoses from external providers, monitoring students' progress and providing recommendations for further intervention.
  • Assist school communities to respond to critical incidents, providing counselling and support to affected students.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community health agencies to ensure effective referral and coordination of services for children, parents and families.
  • Maintain professional development by completing the minimum requirements for 30 hours of activities annually in line with the Psychology Board of Australia registration standards.
