Role Overview:

The Intake Worker plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless intake and exit functions for FFT-CW services. Collaborating with Family Therapy Supervisors, they facilitate effective engagement with families referred to the Functional Family Therapy - Child Welfare (FFT-CW) team.

Key responsibilities include assisting families in understanding the FFT-CW service, completing the intake and exit process, and fostering strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven skills and experience in intake or relevant service delivery roles.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Aboriginal Health Worker, Bachelor of Social Work, or Psychology.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and engagement skills.
  • Ability to relate to children, young people, and families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in data entry, spreadsheets, and information systems.
  • Proficiency in safe home visiting, risk identification, and mitigation, and safety planning.
  • Experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including NGOs, ACCOs, and the community.
