The Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled Senior Corporate Business Growth Specialist to join our team, supporting our Corporate practice group nationally. Based in either Sydney or Melbourne, this role reports directly to the Corporate BD Manager.

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering our Corporate group's business growth strategy for Australia, driving profitable revenue and enhancing our practice's brand and market position.

  • Collaborate with Corporate BD Managers to support partners and lawyers in winning work by leading or contributing to pitch and bid processes.
  • Develop and maintain business development infrastructure, including tracking credentials, pitches, and maintaining accessible resources.
  • Manage and maintain corporate content in firm systems, providing training on their use to the Corporate practice.
  • Respond to national and global requests for Group experience, credentials, and reports to support work-winning activities.
  • Lead and project manage the M&A and ECM league table submissions process, ensuring strong relationships with league table providers and robust data management.
  • Assist in preparing Directory and Awards submissions and supporting national strategic priorities.
  • Work with BD, Marketing, and Events teams to deliver Corporate BD and marketing initiatives, including thought leadership, campaigns, and events.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and preparation of reports, presentations, and client or product line insights.

To succeed in this position, you'll ideally have:

  • 3+ years of experience in a business development role, particularly in pitching and developing high-quality written content.
  • An undergraduate degree in marketing, commerce, business, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge, experience, and understanding of the different practice areas, sectors, and markets within our Corporate practice group is desirable.
  • Ability to quickly gain an understanding of the overall business of the Corporate practice is essential.
  • Project management skills as well as experience in managing pitches and bids.
  • Demonstrated sound organisational, planning, delegation, and project administration skills.
  • Proven ability to think ahead, understand, and manage priorities and stakeholders and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and strong work ethic with a willingness to accept ownership of and follow up on tasks without prompting.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Professional and commercial approach to business, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider national team.
  • High level of personal integrity, initiative, and collegiality.
