Job Description

Our mission is to empower frontline workers by providing a platform that resolves workplace safety issues quickly and efficiently. As part of our mission, we help customers resolve workplace safety issues through our Marketplace team.

We are looking for a visionary leader to develop a strategy for integrating external data sources into our data ecosystem to enhance existing data insights. This includes using data analytics and machine learning techniques to transform raw external data into actionable insights that support business decisions and identify growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance data science, analytics, or data engineering within the general insurance industry. They should have demonstrated experience incorporating third-party data sources to derive insights, proven experience building and managing a team, and the ability to effectively communicate with people from technical and non-technical backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive data integration strategy to enhance existing data insights.
  • Use data analytics and machine learning techniques to transform raw data into actionable insights.
  • Establish a robust data governance practice.
  • Lead the Data function, including vision, strategy, planning, growth, and development of the team.
  • Manage a medium-sized team consisting of Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists.
  • Partner with senior leadership teams and cross-functional teams to understand data needs and ensure external data insights are aligned with company goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in insurance data science, analytics, or data engineering within the general insurance industry.
  • Demonstrated experience incorporating third-party data sources to derive insights.
  • Proven experience building and managing a team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people from technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced growth environment.
  • Experience articulating a vision and strategy up and down an organisation.
