Prenatal and Infant Mental Health Specialist
Seeking a Prenatal and Infant Mental Health Specialist to facilitate connection with tailored services for parents experiencing perinatal and infant mental health concerns.
About the Opportunity:
- Develop comprehensive care pathways through close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, cultural consultants, and community providers.
- Provide expert guidance and clinical decision-making to ensure timely access to appropriate prenatal and infant mental health services, prioritizing client safety and wellbeing.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local prenatal and infant mental health services and eligibility criteria, acting as a resource for health professionals on referral options, pathways, and eligibility.
About You:
- Hold a relevant degree enabling full membership with a professional association or registration with a relevant board.
- Be registered or eligible for registration as a healthcare professional with a relevant board and hold a current practicing certificate.
- Have a minimum of 3 years post-registration experience.
- Proven ability to conduct comprehensive prenatal biopsychosocial assessments, risk assessments, and develop individualized care plans.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with experience working effectively in multidisciplinary teams, including diverse families and communities.
- In-depth knowledge of mental health issues related to pregnancy, birth, postnatal period, trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and social determinants impacting infant, child, and family wellbeing.
