Job Summary

The role of Data Engineer is crucial in supporting data delivery and infrastructure across the organization. Key responsibilities include maintaining cloud platforms, data lakes, data marts, and dashboards to ensure optimal performance.

  • Provide ongoing support for data infrastructure, including design, implementation, and monitoring of ETL pipelines using CI/CD methodologies.
  • Monitor data platform performance and recommend enhancements to maintain optimal benchmarks.
  • Design and implement ETL pipelines using CI/CD methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of solution designs and big data platform strategies across all environments (development, integration, pre-production, production, and support).
  • Communicate technical updates and project priorities to stakeholders, including timelines and data technology considerations.
  • Investigate and resolve data-related incidents promptly.

This role requires a motivated and technically capable individual with hands-on experience in data pipelines, cloud platforms, and ETL processes. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of data infrastructure and performance monitoring.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology, Mechatronic or a related field.
  • Significant experience in data management across cloud platforms, data lakes, warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence.
  • Proficient with BI and analytics tools such as Databricks, SQL Server, Power BI, R, and Python.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing, big data architecture, data streaming, and virtualisation.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong development skills in Python and SQL.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex stakeholder queries.
