Fire Assayer Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Fire Assayer who is passionate about laboratory work and willing to take on the challenges of this role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing specialized equipment and performing manual handling tasks to prepare samples in a fast-paced laboratory environment, ensuring high-quality results and adhering to established procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare samples for analysis by weighing and fluxing them.
  • Perform cupellation and knock-up of samples using precise techniques.
  • Pick prills for digest and ensure accurate processing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following strict health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and maintain a safe working environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work an 8-hour rotating day, afternoon, and night shift roster.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow set procedures accurately.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and processes.
