Multilingual Healthcare Interpreter Position Melbourne

The role of an Interpreter at Eastern Health is a vital part of our Allied Health team, providing essential interpreting services for staff, patients, and their families. As an Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) patients fully understand their healthcare information.
About the Role- You will manage interpreter bookings efficiently and professionally, working closely with hospital staff to enhance their use of interpreting services.
- You will educate and collaborate with hospital staff to ensure they are using interpreting services effectively, helping to coordinate both internal and external interpreter bookings.
- Maintaining accurate records of service occasions and reporting these to the Director of Language Services is a key responsibility.
- NAATI Certified Interpreter certification.
- Tertiary qualifications.
- Ability to speak Mandarin and Cantonese.
- Experience working as an interpreter in a healthcare environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to organise and prioritise work.
- Ability to work as a team and with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment.
We offer a competitive salary package, estimated to be around $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a generous salary, we also offer a range of benefits, including flexible working hours, career progression opportunities, and access to professional development programs.
