Job Overview

The Finance Systems and Process Specialist role is a key position, responsible for executing complex client finance workflows to deliver accurate results.

This specialist will work on:

  • Executing technical workflows to resolve client finance issues and ensure rapid delivery;
  • Providing backup support for urgent client deliverables or mentoring colleagues through challenging finance tasks;
  • Reviewing and optimizing workflows to boost accuracy, productivity and service level agreements;
  • Maintaining documentation to keep client manuals, process maps and internal guides up to date and accessible;
  • Upholding service excellence with real-time quality checks, low error rates and exceptional customer outcomes;
  • Designing best-practice processes for bookkeeping, payroll and reporting to drive operational consistency;
  • Collaborating on automation to embed automated checks, API integrations and AI-driven controls;
  • Analyzing trends and errors in finance workflows to proactively strengthen training, QA standards and process safeguards.
Key Requirements
  • A strong foundation in finance operations, with hands-on experience across bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable/accounts receivable, financial reporting, budgeting, or forecasting;
  • Comfort working with systems and processes, identifying how each step fits into the bigger picture and where things can be improved;
  • A systems thinking mindset, understanding how workflows, people and technology intersect and designing processes that scale;
  • Experience using cloud accounting platforms like Xero or similar tools, and confidence navigating third-party apps or automation software;
  • Exposure to working with or alongside product and engineering teams, especially in fast-paced or tech-enabled environments;
  • An interest in artificial intelligence and automation, and how these technologies can improve accuracy, efficiency and insight across finance workflows;
  • A mindset of continuous improvement, always looking to increase accuracy, consistency and impact in the way finance services are delivered.
