Paediatric Palliative Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and collaborative specialist to join our Paediatric Palliative Care Service at John Hunter Children's Hospital.

About the Role:
  • Provide holistic, family-centred care to children across the Hunter New England region and the Child Health Network – Northern in various settings.
  • Participate in after-hours support and statewide on-call advisory services for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care delivery.
  • Contribute to education and training initiatives for medical students, junior doctors, nursing and allied health staff.
  • Engage in quality improvement and service development projects.
Requirements:
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (or equivalent).
  • Current specialist registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary teamwork and compassionate care delivery.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teaching skills.
