Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Quality Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care to ensure the highest standards of nursing practice.
- Lead and Mentor: Provide leadership, support, and mentorship to nursing staff, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Develop and Implement Strategies: Utilize effective communication strategies to promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Patients and Families: Work in partnership with patients and families to make informed decisions about care, promoting beneficial relationships and outcomes.
- Develop and Utilize Leadership Skills: Demonstrate ability to provide leadership, support, and mentorship to nursing staff, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Develop and Implement Quality Improvement Initiatives: Commit to ongoing professional development and quality improvement programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Essential Criteria:
- AHPRA Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute general medical/rehabilitation nursing.
- Education and Training: Demonstrated experience providing education to patients and leadership and education to nursing staff.
- Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement programs.
- Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of the Australian National Commission in Quality and Safety Ten National Standards and ability to demonstrate initiative and work within a team environment.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, promoting a positive can-do attitude and strong leadership skills.
- Leadership and Management: Experience in coordinating shifts and managing the unit after hours, demonstrating commitment to uphold and promote the Healthscope core values.
