About the Role
">We are seeking a highly skilled Drilling Operations Specialist to join our team at South Deep Gold Mine. This role will involve operating the Sandvik DD321 drill rig, achieving established daily operational targets, and ensuring optimal care of the operating rig and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities
">- Maintain Safety, Health and Environmental practices according to standards and procedures.
- Perform pre-use inspections on equipment and report deficiencies to supervisor.
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment, including top-up engine oil, water, and hydraulic oil, checking for oil leaks and cleaning equipment according to standards and procedures.
- Park the Drill Rig at the designated area after each shift, clean equipment, and report to supervisor.
- Perform any other activities necessary for the effective completion of work.
- Operate the drill rig to support development ends and drill holes that must be charged up in development ends.
Requirements
">- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Drill Rig (DD321) Certificate and license.
- Dover A result.
- Valid driver's license.
- At least 2 years' experience as a Drill Rig Operator.
- Secure full Gold Fields Security and Related Occupational Screening.
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre, and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test.
Estimated Salary Range: R250,000 - R350,000 per annum
