Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate production activities to identify opportunities for improvement in productivity, material flow, safety, quality and cost.
  • Implement key elements of Lean such as Standardized Work Instructions, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen/5S.
  • Conduct time studies and audits to validate labor estimates.
  • Work with vendors to determine product specifications and evaluate products according to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiencies and eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Provide shop floor feedback on product design and manufacturability issues.
  • Document and track all cost savings and process improvements.
  • Evaluate Quality data to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Plan and execute facility layout modifications based on planned products and workload.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering.
  • BS / MS in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
  • LEAN/Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Understanding of Fabrication, welding & assembly processes.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks & AutoCAD.
  • Good understanding of LEAN initiatives.
  • Experience in make-to-order/engineer-to-order project environment.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Most work performed sitting at a desk but some work performed in a shop environment.
  • Exposed to various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day and 6 days a week.
