Job Description

Are you an experienced drafter looking to take your skills to the next level? We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Light Gauge Drafter to join our team. As a key member of our drafting department, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality design drawings for manufacturing purposes.

As a Senior Light Gauge Drafter, you will be responsible for creating detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications based on sketches, notes, and other input from architects or engineers. Your expertise in light gauge steel framing and design drafting principles relevant to residential construction will be essential in ensuring that our designs meet the highest standards of technical accuracy and cost-effectiveness.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD and experience with FrameCAD software and/or Tekla Structures. You will also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams, including sales, production, estimating, customers, and installation contractors.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience
  • Qualifications in design drafting, architecture, structural detailing, structural engineering or other relevant qualifications
  • Experience in light gauge steel framing and architectural drafting or structural detailing
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and ideally, experience with FrameCAD software and/or Tekla Structures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration across teams
