Job Title: Community Career Catalyst

This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the futures of marginalized Indigenous young people by providing them with life-changing employability opportunities. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to serve as our Community Career Catalyst.

About the Role

The Community Career Catalyst is responsible for delivering impactful Training to Employment Pathways that support individuals in building sustainable careers. This requires strong community engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and a commitment to continual quality improvement. The successful candidate will mentor participants, deliver life skills education, and evaluate outcomes to ensure ongoing success and alignment with community needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively engage with community members and organizations to promote and support the Pathways program.
  • Build trust and rapport with participants to foster a sense of belonging and motivation.
Education Delivery and Development
  • Deliver tailored Training to Employment Pathways initiatives that address participant needs, including self-belief and empowerment, resource management, and sustainability.
  • Deliver Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural education to general staff members, leaders, managers, and key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and mentoring sessions to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge.
  • Evaluate outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including businesses, community organizations, and government agencies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create opportunities and resources that enhance program delivery.
Quality Improvement
  • Continuously assess and improve program processes, materials, and delivery methods.
  • Incorporate participant and stakeholder feedback into program enhancements.
Mentorship and Support
  • Provide mentorship to participants, guiding them through challenges and helping them achieve their career goals.
  • Provide personalized support in helping gain access to necessary documents and services.
  • Offer personalized support to ensure participants' successful transition into employment pathways.
Reporting and Evaluation
  • Prepare detailed reports on outcomes, participant progress, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Use evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness and impact of education.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Planning and organizational skills to manage education delivery effectively.
  • Excellent relationship, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and ability to address challenges constructively.
  • Computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office or equivalent.
  • Sound cultural awareness and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Facilitation skills to deliver engaging and effective training sessions.
  • Teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Empathy and understanding to support participants from diverse and vulnerable backgrounds.
  • Project management or coordination experience in overseeing multiple tasks and objectives.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Reporting, tracking, and evaluating program outcomes.
Compliance and Training Requirements
  • Willingness to undergo a national criminal history check.
  • Possession of or willingness to obtain:
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
  • Blue Card (working with children).
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
