Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Legal Practitioner to join our team at the Department of Justice. As a Legal Practitioner, you will provide routine legal advice, information, guidance, and support to clients and their support persons regarding family violence matters across Tasmania.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support to clients and their support persons
  • Make referrals to internal and external services as required
  • Represent clients in Court and at conferences
  • Liaise with other services relevant to the Safe at Home service system
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and working groups

Essential Requirements:

  • Admitted or eligible for admission as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the relevant Federal courts
  • Current Tasmanian Registration Working with Vulnerable People (Registration Status-Employment)

Desirable Requirements:

  • Current Motor Vehicle Driver's Licence
