Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Patent Attorney to join our Chemistry team in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing external and internal clients, advising on patentability of inventions, and conducting patent searches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development
    • Develop and implement strategies to grow our client base and increase revenue
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and stakeholders
  • Patent Advisory
    • Advise clients on patentability of inventions and provide guidance on patent law
    • Conduct patent searches and interpret technical results to advise clients
  • Patent Practice
    • Take responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of patent practice
    • Work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients

Requirements

  • PhD in a Chemistry related discipline
  • Expertise in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, or chemical biology
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
