Category Development Associate Role

We are seeking a skilled Category Development Associate to join our team at Woolworths Group. As a Category Development Associate, you will be responsible for delivering a relevant offer for our customers by leveraging our data and creating insights to inform and influence category strategy and ranging decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify strategic category opportunities through curation and analysis of large data sets, including customer behavior, market trends, category performance, pricing, and supplier dynamics.
  • Support the end-to-end delivery of customer-focused range reviews across a broad number of categories through data-led insights and recommendations.
  • Consult and collaborate confidently with stakeholders across the business to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Influence and present to a wide range of stakeholders across the business.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of Retail/Category analyst experience, or professional services (consulting, Big 4).
  • Ability to synthesize data into structured recommendations and charts (PowerPoint, Google Slides).
  • Ability to gather and analyze large data sets (Excel required, SQL highly preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, paired with a passion for solving problems in creative, innovative, and structured ways.
  • Strong academic record and social achievements, including a Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, or related subject, or equal professional experience.
