Finance and Data Specialist

The role of a Finance and Data Specialist plays a vital part in managing financial resources effectively. Key responsibilities include streamlining processes, reducing costs, and driving operational excellence under the direction of a senior manager.

This position is part of a team that formulates rules, policies, frameworks, procedures, and guidelines governing financial systems and processes. The team drives initiatives to transform the finance function, enhance operational efficiencies, and foster a culture of innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimise processes, reduce costs, and drive operational excellence under the direction of the Manager, Process Improvement.
  • Work with key stakeholders to design, develop, and implement reporting and analytics.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced graduate degree or relevant certification (e.g., PowerPlatform, Six Sigma, Lean, PowerBI, CPA, Oracle, SQL, PowerQuery) is preferred.
  • Possess at least 3-5 years' experience in financial analysis, process improvements, data analytics, or a related field with a proven track record in driving process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in data and process mapping tools, analysis tools, and techniques such as Visio, Power Query, SQL, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, etc.), or Tableau.
  • Good basic understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and standards with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Benefits:

This full-time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $115,042 to $129,573 per annum plus 17% University superannuation contribution. Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated to meet your personal circumstances.
