Job Title

Job Description:

The engineering technician will perform technical tasks under supervision to support customers with service, repair, overhaul, and warranty of equipment throughout its life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess products, locate sources of problems by observing electro-mechanical devices in operation.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information, answer questions, request feedback, and report to the internal team.
  • Dismantle equipment, remove/replace defective parts.
  • Determine changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
  • Replace parts out of specification or to customer requirements.
  • Test and qualify compliance to OEM specifications.
  • Maintain machinery, electronic, and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
  • Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Train production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist in solving mechanical or electronics problems involved in the operation of products.
  • Assist engineers with fabricating and assembling electronics subassemblies for prototype models from schematics, rough sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Troubleshoot the product to determine cause and remedy for malfunctions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma of Engineering preferred. Mechanic certificate, Electrician certificate, or Fitter Trade certification is useful.
  • One to three years' experience in a testing environment preferred or a combination or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Analytical and structured approach.
  • Ability to read and interpret work and technical instructions and schematic drawings.
  • Capacity to diagnose issues using diagnostic tools and specialized equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
