Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of best practice nursing care.
- Provide leadership and management to nursing and support staff within the unit.
- Foster a positive team environment that promotes engagement, learning, development, and safety.
- Plan and manage an environment conducive to person-centred care.
- Facilitate clinical skills acquisition and performance assessment in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Lead quality, safety, and risk management programs within the unit.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Experience within a Residential Aged Care setting.
- Desirable: Experience in an Acute In-patient Mental Health setting.
- Sound knowledge of ethnic and culturally sensitive issues and practices.
- Knowledge of the Aged Care Act and Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Mental health and risk assessment skills.
- Understanding of the Mental Health Act 2014 (Victoria) and relevant legislation, policies, and strategic directions of Public Mental Health Services.
- Desirable: Understanding of the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI).
