Instrument Technician Opportunity

The Instrument Technician performs a senior role in the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) under the supervision and guidance of the Operating Suite Nurse Unit Manager. Duties include processing autoclaving and distributing sterile supplies to all internal and external customers with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.

  • Process instruments for sterilisation using an autoclave;
  • Prepare, distribute and manage inventory of sterile supplies;
  • Supervise junior staff including training, mentoring, performance management and orientation of new staff in the unit;
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to planning and decision-making processes.

About You

  • A Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services or equivalent qualification awarded by a registered training organisation is required;
  • At least 4 years' experience (full-time equivalent) as an Instrument Technician is preferred.
