About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our Model Risk Management team in Sydney. As a key member of our global team, you will be responsible for overseeing and independently validating models used for Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR), Valuation Adjustments (XVA), the Standardised Initial Margin Model (SIMM), and associated valuation pricing models used for trading activity.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across our Commodities and Global Markets, Finance, Credit Risk, Market Risk, and Prudential Risk teams to deliver risk management outcomes. Additionally, you will ensure that independent validation is completed to ensure models are compliant with Australian regulations, such as APS180, CPS226, and APS116, while assisting the global team in performing validations to meet local regulatory requirements of Macquarie's entities in other regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and independently validate models used for CCR, XVA, SIMM, and associated valuation pricing models
  • Work with senior stakeholders to deliver risk management outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with Australian regulations, such as APS180, CPS226, and APS116
  • Assist the global team in performing validations to meet local regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • Educational background in a quantitative discipline
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable risk management experience
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Previous experience with model calibration using statistical or stochastic models
  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages (Python, R)
