We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urban Planning Leader to join our team at Mount Alexander Shire Council.

Key Responsibilities
  • To lead and manage a team of planners in the assessment of development applications, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
  • To provide expert advice and guidance to staff and external stakeholders on planning matters.
  • To project manage complex planning projects, including major developments and infrastructure initiatives.
  • To prepare and present reports, submissions, and other documents as required.
Requirements
  • A recognized qualification in land use planning (or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years of experience in statutory planning within local government, preferably in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Victorian planning laws and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and the community.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 per annum, plus superannuation and generous leave entitlements.
