About the Opportunity:
A full-time, permanent employment opportunity has become available for a Senior Technical Officer (Parks) to join the City of Darwin's Parks and Reserves team.
We are seeking a talented professional to drive improvements across our Parks and Reserves team to ensure sustainable, fit-for-purpose outcomes are achieved for our park and open space network. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing landscape plans and developing policies and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective practices.
- Preparing business cases and assessing new innovations to drive improvement.
- Undertaking benchmarking exercises to ensure our practices are aligned to industry best practice.
- Managing complex reactive requests and preparing reports and briefings.
This is a diverse role with opportunities to work with internal and external stakeholders and make positive change. The role is based at the City of Darwin's operations depot.
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold a Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline or a Diploma-level qualification with considerable experience.
- Have a minimum of five years' relevant experience demonstrating strategic, tactical, and operational experience.
- Possess sound computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, Map Info, and GIS capabilities.
- Be able to obtain a National Police Records Criminal History Check.
- Hold and maintain a Class C driver's licence.
- Hold a General Construction Industry - White Card.
The base salary for this position is $95,527.33 per annum plus superannuation. The City of Darwin also provides generous leave entitlements, including six weeks annual leave and fifteen days personal leave.
