Estimating Role

The Senior Estimator is a key professional responsible for leading the estimating team to achieve competitive tendering and financial targets.

This position involves strategic business development, mentoring staff, and maintaining relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement effective strategies for competitive tender procurement aligned with company goals.
  • Mentor and train estimating staff in accurate take-offs, pricing, and subcontractor alliances.
  • Oversee the use of estimating software to streamline tender processes and project handovers.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical tendering practices, including subcontractor communication and pre-tender meetings.
  • Maintain and update databases for conceptual and hard bids, ensuring timely client deliverables.
  • Collaborate with operations and business development to optimize cost accounting and project timelines.
  • Track job costs, unit production, and profitability to maximize project outcomes.
  • Build and sustain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Tertiary degree in building management, quantity surveying, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in estimating with a strong acumen in residential estimating.
  • High rise experience advantageous.
  • Proficiency in BuildSoft, EstimateOne, or similar software.
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and financial expertise.

  • Timely tender submissions and schedule updates.
  • Efficient resource management and documentation.
  • Compliance with core values and mentorship initiatives.
