Emergency Nursing Specialist

The Post Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nursing is a specialized program designed to equip registered nurses with advanced clinical skills and knowledge to provide expert care for complex patients in the emergency department.
Throughout this program, participants will work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a supportive team across both Adult and Children's Emergency Departments. They will develop competencies and hurdle assessments onsite by Clinical Educators and receive shift support from Clinical Support Nurses.
Key features of this program include:
- Apart-time commitment of 64 hours per fortnight allows for flexibility in scheduling
- Collaboration with Monash University ensures a high-quality educational experience
- Onsite competency and hurdle assessments by Clinical Educators guarantee hands-on learning
- Shift support from Clinical Support Nurses provides ongoing guidance and mentorship
- Rotations through Adult and Children's ED expose participants to diverse patient populations and scenarios
To be eligible for this program, applicants must have a minimum of 12 months acute experience as a registered nurse and possess excellent communication skills, motivation for continued professional development, and flexibility to work all shifts on a monthly self-request roster.
