Overview of the Role:

The Central Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our palliative care team. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide holistic care to patients with complex psychosocial needs and their families.

About the Position:

This part-time role will involve providing counselling and bereavement support, as well as collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive services for our community. You will also be responsible for responding to organisational requests for specialist advice and providing professional consultancy to management and staff.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • You hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification, making you eligible for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • You possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in diverse settings.
  • You bring significant experience in health settings, including counselling, clinical decision-making, and collaboration with professionals and communities.
  • You have a deep understanding of social work theories, psycho-social intervention strategies, grief theory, and culturally sensitive practices.
