Role Overview
The Deputy Associate plays a pivotal role in supporting the Judge and their team in the day-to-day management of Chambers. As part of a small, dynamic team, this position involves assisting with various tasks, including court preparation, legal research, and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake complex legal research, writing, and proofreading as required.
  • Attend court, providing administrative support and assistance as needed.
  • Assist the Associate in managing chambers, including correspondence, liaison with practitioners, and case management.
  • Manage chambers in the Associate's absence.
  • Prepare Court Orders and other documents.

Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities, and a high level of keyboard proficiency. A sound understanding of legal principles and procedures is also essential. Additionally, the ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing situations is crucial.

Eligibility:
Candidates must be Australian citizens and meet the necessary security clearance requirements. Successful applicants will also undergo a probation period and adhere to the Public Service Act 1999.
