A career opportunity in civil construction awaits at Port Stephens Council, where you can begin your journey by taking up a Certificate III in Civil Construction apprenticeship.
During this apprenticeship, you will have the chance to work across various teams, including Construction, Roads, and Roadside & Drainage, under the supervision of expert professionals. This valuable hands-on experience will allow you to learn and develop new skills on-the-job.
You will be involved in numerous activities such as working on road construction and maintenance, drainage projects, concreting, road furniture installation, and asphalt laying. You will also gain experience operating basic plant equipment and engage in general manual labor tasks.
This contract position offers a 4-day workweek or 9-day fortnight arrangement with paid study leave for attending courses during work hours. To apply, you must demonstrate commitment to completing your Certificate III in Civil Construction and possess the necessary qualifications.
Some key responsibilities of this role include operating basic plant equipment and performing general manual labor duties. The ideal candidate should have good understanding of WHS principles and reliable transportation. Teamwork is also essential for success in this position.
