Safety Advisor Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Safety Advisor to play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our safety management systems for construction projects. As part of our team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough desktop and on-site safety audits, ensuring safe work practices, and driving continuous improvement within our construction projects.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive construction safety management system procedures and guidance materials
  • Review and critique external partner project-specific safety management plans and client requirements
  • Collaborate with the project management team in High Risk workshops
  • Conduct regular onsite construction inspections to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Publish detailed site inspection reports, highlighting findings and tracking corrective actions
  • Manage reporting processes for customer projects and internal stakeholders
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong passion for creating safe working environments in the construction sector
  • 10+ years of experience in a construction site-based setting, with at least 5 years in a safety-focused role
  • A Diploma or Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including consultation, facilitation, and negotiation expertise
  • Well-developed time management and organisational skills
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
Compensation and Benefits
