About the Role- We are looking for an experienced professional who can read blueprints and instructions to determine the scope of work required.
- The ideal candidate will prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, and removing old paint, ensuring a smooth finish.
- They will mix and apply paints and materials according to specifications, using a range of tools to achieve the desired effect.
- A key responsibility will be to calculate costs and negotiate prices with clients or suppliers.
- The successful candidate will adhere to all health and safety protocols when working at heights or with hazardous materials.
- Prior experience as a painter or colorist is essential.
- Excellent knowledge of painting materials and techniques is required, including color selection and finish application.
- Solid understanding of commercial and construction painting practices is necessary.
- Aptitude in using various tools, such as brushes and caulking guns, is essential.
- Good basic math skills are required for cost estimation and negotiation.
- Manual dexterity and balance are crucial for working at heights or with scaffolding.
- Conscientiousness and attention to detail are vital for delivering high-quality results.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, plus completion of an apprenticeship, is preferred.
