Therapeutic Biologics Research Specialist

We are seeking a skilled researcher to support the development of innovative therapeutic biologics. This fixed-term maternity cover position will involve conducting molecular biology, cell culture, antibody expression, purification, characterization, and binding studies to enable the creation of novel therapeutic antibodies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and development planning, execution, and interpretation for novel therapeutic antibody projects.
  • Focusing on protein production, screening, and characterizing antibodies.
  • Lab-based role involving general molecular biology, DNA preparation, protein expression, purification, and characterization using techniques like mammalian cell culture, SPR, ELISAs, HPLC, FPLC, and analytical method development.
  • Implement high-throughput antibody purification and characterization workflows to identify and optimize antibody hits.
  • Provide regular updates through presentations and maintain experimental records in electronic lab notebooks.
  • Train junior staff members as required and adhere to employee health and safety guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field. Previous industry-based R&D experience is highly valued, particularly in mammalian cell culture, protein purification by liquid chromatography, and analytical characterization methods.

You should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, be able to prioritize tasks across multiple projects, and deliver according to timelines. Additionally, you should possess effective communication skills and a passion for therapeutic drug discovery and development.
