Job Description:

This role involves working as part of a seasonal team to support fire mitigation efforts in North and Central Queensland.

The job requires flexibility, teamwork, and a strong focus on safety. Crew members may be deployed locally or across the state depending on operational needs.

Candidates should be willing to perform extended living away from home rosters, up to 2 weeks duration, and ensure safety standards are followed for themselves, their crew, and the community.

Your Day May Include
  • Carrying out fire preparation and mitigation works
  • Operating and maintaining firefighting tools, machinery, and vehicles
  • Supporting fire response operations, including frontline duties when required
  • Performing vegetation management tasks such as weed control and clearing drains
  • Assisting with inspections and reporting on fire readiness activities
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work safely, follow directions, and complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in hot, remote, and rugged conditions
  • Current manual Driver's Licence (essential)
  • Prior experience in firefighting, rural fire brigade, vegetation, or land management (desirable)
