Job Role: Urgent Care Practice Nurse

The role of an urgent care practice nurse is a vital one, requiring dedication and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Triaging patients who present to the urgent care service
  • Conducting comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments
  • Acting promptly in response to patients who require emergency escalation or are experiencing deterioration
  • Performing procedural work such as suturing and plastering

This role involves working collaboratively with patients, families, carers, and medical practitioners to deliver person-centred care and achieve desired clinical outcomes. It also involves providing essential health education and completing documentation accurately and efficiently.

About You:

As an AHPRA registered nurse, you will have a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices. To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to think critically and work autonomously. Experience in triage within an emergency department, remote nursing, or ICU is highly desirable, although not essential.
