Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated professional to fill the role of Tasmanian Coordinator.

The successful candidate will be based in Hobart, Tasmania and will play a crucial part in our union's objectives and broader goals.

  • Develop and direct strategic campaigns and organising plans that align with our union's objects and goals
  • Build, lead and manage multiple teams, and coordinate the delivery of plans with the involvement of other union portfolios
  • Assess and support the development of Lead Organisers (or equivalent)
  • Utilise Organising systems and tools to retrieve and analyse data, and provide advice on risks and report against target outcomes, taking steps to mitigate risks or improve outcomes
  • Drive reform in the national union through this portfolio
  • Contribute to best practice outcomes to increase knowledge across the whole union, in organising and campaigning
  • Lead bargaining
  • Implement and promote practices, policies, strategies and systems that contribute to our goals, including diversity, inclusive workplaces and address barriers to participation or discrimination
  • Manage digital organising tools such as CallHub, P2P texting and Social Media for campaign activities, member and potential member engagement

  • Extensive experience in union organising and campaigning
  • Experience in developing strategy, planning and reporting
  • Experience in using reporting systems to analyse data and create reports to inform strategic plans
  • Leadership skills, including motivating and educating others
  • Excellent communication, messaging and rapport building skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
