Our organization is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist (Grade 2) in our Drug and Alcohol Services department. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated nurse to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering senior nursing leadership in the coordination and delivery of community drug and alcohol treatment services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment, support, crisis intervention, care planning, and evaluation of care in line with NSW Health Clinical Care Standards: Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment.
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify key messages, issues, and concerns when communicating with others. The successful candidate must also possess a detailed knowledge and understanding of harm minimization and evidence of leadership in safety and quality innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver senior nursing leadership in the coordination and delivery of community drug and alcohol treatment services.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment, support, crisis intervention, care planning, and evaluation of care.
- Develop and implement clinical management plans to address complex drug and alcohol clinical care and service delivery issues.
- Exercise extended autonomy of decision making while working as part of a multidisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Facilitate patient and carer education and promote health and wellbeing through the development and use of educational resources.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
Essential Requirements:
- Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Relevant post-registration qualifications.
- At least 3 years' experience working in the drug and alcohol nursing field.
Desirable Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex drug and alcohol clinical care and service delivery issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify key messages, issues, and concerns when communicating with others.
- Detailled knowledge and understanding of harm minimization.
