About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Executive to lead our organisation and its wholly-owned subsidiaries, including Mater Research, Mater Education and Mater Foundation.

This is a significant group-wide leadership role which is integral to our Mission of delivering high-quality healthcare, education and research to the communities we serve.

The new Chief Executive will be responsible for setting an inspirational vision for our future, ensuring optimal performance in our service delivery in alignment with Mater's Mission and Values.

About Mater

Mater is a Catholic not-for-profit ministry of Mercy Partners, guided by the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy who first established Mater in 1906.

We are Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for nearly 700,000 patients annually across a network of 11 public and private hospitals.

About the Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of Mater's operations, including Mater's 'best in class' maternity service.
  • Establish Mater as a global leader in the provision of mothers' and babies' healthcare.
  • Drive financial, commercial and operational excellence, meeting our compliance and regulatory obligations.
  • Foster a culture of excellence in order to deliver the best experience for service users and employees alike.

About You

The successful candidate will be an outstanding leader with extensive senior executive or Chief Executive experience in a related healthcare or not-for-profit sector.

You will possess sophisticated executive leadership skills, a strong, ethical value base and a proven ability to drive an ambitious transformation agenda in a complex organisation.
