About the Role:

Recruitment 24/7 is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to fill the position of Tenancy Advocate for our client based in Ipswich. This role is designed to provide expert advice and support to tenants under the Queensland Rental Laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive information, advice, and advocacy to tenants and residents in accordance with The Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008.
  • Assist tenants in accessing dispute resolution and complaints processes, ensuring a fair and just outcome.
  • Collaborate effectively with the team, colleagues, and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Support individuals at risk of homelessness, providing guidance and resources to help them navigate the system.
  • Adhere to policy and procedural guidelines related to operational and program matters.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in tenant advocacy, housing, homelessness, or other advocacy roles.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to relate to vulnerable individuals with dignity and respect.
  • Strong interagency relationships and experience referring clients to other agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and act calmly in high-pressure situations.
  • Good professional boundaries and understanding of professional ethics, including privacy and confidentiality.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, self-care, and willingness to participate in training as required.
  • Effective computer skills and sound knowledge of data management systems.
  • Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in a related area or other non-related tertiary qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Current Positive Notice Police Check or capacity to attain.
  • Current Working With Children Card or capacity to attain prior to start.
  • Current QLD Positive Notice Disability Yellow Card or capacity to attain.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008.
  • Proof of Covid vaccination status.
