Primary education is a cornerstone of our community's development. We seek an experienced teacher to join our small, safe, and supportive school on Arnhem Land Island.

Key Responsibilities
  • We expect you to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs that foster strong relationships with students, staff, and the local community. You will promote cultural awareness, inclusivity, and respect for diversity in all aspects of teaching and learning.
  • You will interact with students in various settings, build positive learning environments, and implement effective behavior management strategies. Regular assessment and feedback will be crucial in tracking student progress.
  • Ensuring the physical, social, emotional, and cultural well-being of students is paramount. You must maintain a safe and inclusive environment at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report performance to relevant stakeholders as required. This includes documenting student achievements, setting goals, and providing constructive feedback.

This is a full-time position for the remainder of the year, with potential for a long-term contract from 2026. Partners may be eligible for casual work opportunities such as cleaner, grounds person, or kitchen assistant.

The school provides fully subsidized accommodation, electricity, and other benefits. Footprint Placements offers additional support for adapting to remote life, including trauma-responsive practice courses and cultural competency training.

To succeed in this role, you will need to hold a current TRBNT registration and NT Working With Children check (ochre card). A Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent is also required.
