About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Operations Specialist to join our team in Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about high-scale services and working with critical systems.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring incoming event queues using security management tools, identifying, categorizing, prioritizing, and investigating correlated events. They will also perform investigation and triage of events and incidents and escalate according to SOPs.

In addition, the Cybersecurity Operations Specialist will communicate and coordinate with multiple teams on security and operational incidents within a globally distributed team. They will develop reports, dashboards, real-time rules, and filters on a large scale system, as well as develop/iterate on event/incident procedures, long-term analysis, investigation processes, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor incoming event queues using security management tools.
  • Identify, categorize, prioritize, and investigate correlated events.
  • Perform investigation and triage of events and incidents and escalate according to SOPs.
  • Communicate and coordinate with multiple teams on security and operational incidents within a globally distributed team.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, real-time rules, and filters on a large scale system.
  • Develop/iterate on event/incident procedures, long-term analysis, investigation processes, and reporting.
  • Document investigation results and provide relevant details for final analysis.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical education.
  • 5+ years experience in Cybersecurity Operations.
  • Experience of working in a cloud-based environment, preferably OCI.
  • SIEM experience, including rules and signatures configuration and tuning.
  • Experience in Linux based operating systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Critical and considerate eye for detail with ability to proactively identify effective and efficient solutions to real problems.
  • Experience of leading or coordinating actions of a team or a shift (not necessarily in a formal lead role).
  • Network security knowledge and experience.
  • Cloud security knowledge and experience.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia without sponsorship is essential.

Salary Estimate: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum.
