As the principal contractor, McConnell Dowell will oversee the construction of the Midland Station in multiple complex stages, facilitating delivery and commissioning of existing freight and passenger rail line networks, and Final Asset Acceptance (FAA) of the works.
Job Title: Site Supervisor - BuildingsWe are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor - Buildings to join our Midland Junction Alliance team and become an integral part of this iconic project. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the project, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide input into the site logistic plan, including site amenities, housing, entry/exit traffic management, cranage, hoisting, security, and waste management.
- Assist in the overall project management by reviewing construction methods and site performance, and coordinating trade contractors against planned activities and programmes.
- Contribute to the look ahead programme, including procurement schedules, and communicate with the project team and subcontractors.
- Ensure subcontractors complete their work in accordance with the scope of work and programme provided by the Project Manager.
- Perform regular inspections on subcontractors' work to ensure it conforms to the specification, drawings, and QA check sheets.
- Coordinate storage of MJA and subcontractors' goods and materials.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the WHS Act, AHS Regulations, EPA Act, and all Codes of Practice.
- Trade qualification relevant to the position.
- Proven experience in fit-out finishes in a commercial construction environment.
- Ability to read technical construction drawings and a hands-on understanding of structures, steel, façade, building services, etc.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills to promote the MJA's brand and its vision to both clients and staff.
