Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and driven Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As the technical expert and reliability lead for a designated area of the mill, you will drive safe, cost-effective, and efficient maintenance practices that directly impact plant performance and business outcomes.

Technical Expertise
  • Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and availability to meet production requirements
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement projects and capital projects to ensure long-term sustainability
  • Manage budgets, maintenance costs, and spare parts inventories to optimize total cost of ownership
  • Coordinate and execute planned shutdowns and repairs

Coaching and Guidance

  • Provide coaching and technical guidance to the broader maintenance team
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering, preferably within heavy industry or manufacturing
  • Proven ability to improve plant reliability through structured maintenance strategies
  • Experience leading safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with WHS and environmental standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar CMMS for planning and tracking maintenance activities
  • Exceptional project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-drive and the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
