Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Lead Research and Advocacy Professional to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role will drive strategic research initiatives and shape evidence-based advocacy campaigns, contributing to meaningful social change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Research Agenda: Design and coordinate a comprehensive research agenda to inform key advocacy priorities, leveraging expertise in research methodology and analysis.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration: Foster partnerships with academic institutions, government bodies, and social sector organisations to enhance research capacity and policy influence.
  • Government Relations: Develop and implement a tailored government relations strategy, crafting persuasive advocacy materials and presenting compelling case studies.
  • Strategic Advocacy Plan: Conceptualise and execute a structured program of work to amplify state-based advocacy efforts, driving impactful policy reform.
  • Reporting and Coordination: Establish robust research reporting capabilities, facilitating roundtable discussions and stakeholder engagement to gather and analyse data.
  • Mentorship and Development: Supervise and support interns and students on project work related to research and advocacy, fostering the next generation of experts.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated track record of influencing government policy and advocacy through effective research and communication.
  • Proven experience in designing and overseeing complex research projects, with a focus on social impact.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, academia, and community organisations.
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven history of delivering high-profile projects within tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and build trust with diverse audiences.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of AUD 90,000 - 110,000 per annum, reflecting the complexity and significance of this role. This remuneration package includes a base salary, superannuation, and access to professional development opportunities.
