About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our team at the Maxwell Underground Mine. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages to employees, adhering to relevant legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Long Service Leave, Workers Compensation, Payroll Tax, and record management requirements
  • Interact with employees to address payroll-related inquiries
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to resolve payroll issues
  • Conduct regular audits to identify and correct discrepancies
  • Collect and verify timekeeping information
  • Collate weekly and monthly reports for the Management Team
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Prior experience in a similar position
  • Sound working knowledge of accounting practices and legislative requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Payroll Systems
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
