We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our workshop, you will be responsible for performing mechanical repairs to mining and earthworks mobile plant and equipment.

Job Details
  • Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum based on experience
  • FIFO Roster: Yes, with projects confirmed at time of interest
Responsibilities

As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing mechanical repairs to ensure optimal condition of mobile plant and equipment
  • Following established company procedures and guidelines to maintain high standards
  • Completing Mobile Plant Defect Notices and fault-finding diagnostic work
  • Notifying the Workshop Foreman if parts required for maintenance and repairs are not in stock
  • Recording all parts used with part number and applicable unit number
  • Ensuring appropriate service schedules are used when servicing mobile plant
  • Supervising and assisting with the training of apprentices
  • Maintaining safety protocols, including mobile plant servicing and driver training
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic with proven experience in OEMs or large workshops
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and diagnostic tools
  • Valid HR Driver's Licence and relevant tickets (EWP/Working at Heights and Confined Space)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
